The Churches of Revelations – The Seventh Church – Laodiceans

[ad_1]

God is angry with the Church of the Laodiceans (Revelations 3:14-22). They are guilty of trying to fool God. See why God is angry with the Church of the Laodiceans.

Every Christian belongs to one of the churches of Revelations. Let us examine ourselves and prayerfully seek God’s face and forgiveness.

Revelation of Jesus:
By revealing himself as the faithful and true witness…Jesus is stating that witnessing is a serious matter. A true witness is true in all conditions…not only when it’s convenient. When he states that he is the beginning of the creation of God he is stating that he knows all things from the beginning. Nothing can fool him.

Good Things
There is nothing that God likes about the church of the Laodiceans.

The Problem
The Church of the Laodiceans is lukewarm. They only testify and obey the gospel when it’s convenient. There is no passion. There is no commitment, (see II Timothy 1:12). They believe that gain is godliness, (I Timothy 6:5-6).

It seems the Church of the Laodiceans is trying to fool God. They will confess him when it there is not cost to themselves. They believe in a social gospel. God’s church is no more than a social club to them. When persecution or trials appear they bail. Their faith is as flimsy as their commitment.

The Laodiceans are rich in worldly goods and think they need nothing, but in actuality they are poor, blind, and naked in spiritual matters. They seem to think that they can fool God into thinking they’ve made a commitment when they haven’t. They have unconfessed sin. They don’t believe their sins are that bad. All sin is that bad.

The Solution
Repent and confess your sins in Jesus’s name. Make a true commitment to Christ…a commitment that will stand up to trials and persecution. Become faithful even in trying circumstances. Trade your temporal riches for permanent riches. Open your hearts. Jesus is knocking and asking to come into your heart.

The Judgment
Eternal damnation is the result of fake faith. God will spew them out of his mouth and cast them as far from his goodness and mercy as he possibly can.

God begs us to listen. He says, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches…”

The Reward
Those who repent, confess Jesus, and commit their lives to him will be allowed to sit with Jesus on his throne. God will love them and care for them.

Let us repent and commit our lives totally to Christ.
